Meadowmont
Built in 1999, Meadowmont is a planned neighborhood village that sits on more than 400 acres of land off Raleigh Road/Hwy 54, just across from the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. Meadowmont is in both Durham and Orange County. The community gets it's name from the 20,000 sq. ft. estate that rests in the center of the neighborhood. Other homes range from single-family homes, to modern town homes and condos to wood-built cottage homes. Prices range from the $400s to $2 million. As of this writing, the average days on market (DOM) is 113. The current school system for Meadowmont is Rashkis Elementary, Glenwood Elementary, Creekside Elementary, Githens Middle, Grey Culbreth Middle, Jordan High School, and East Chapel Hill High School.
With sidewalks and running trails everywhere, it is a great suburb to jog, walk pets or stroll with children. Featured here is the iconic “Momma” tree, a large, Shagbark Hickory tree that serves as the logo for the community, and hosts many park benches around the pond to have picnics. There are also plenty of eateries and amenities to find directly surrounding the neighborhood. Adjacent to the housing district is Meadowmont Village, which includes all shopping necessities: a cafe, a grocer, a dry cleaner, boutiques, multiple retailers (large and small), and much more. The UNC Wellness Center is also within walking distance to the neighborhood, and includes a fitness center and a nutrition program. You can also find a 70-acre town park, Rashkis Elementary School, and a YMCA operated pool and fitness facility.
